On Friday night I went with my sister Sherri to New Haven to see the band Wild Flag in concert. The only member I knew was Carrie Brownstein from Portlandia. Anyway, the opening bands were good, and Wild Flag was great. They are total rock stars and they played the most wonderful guitar solos. It made me want, for at least 10 minutes, to be in a band. I was slightly deaf after the show, but I basically had a great time. The only problem was since we were very close to the front, people were squishing me and it was really crowded and hot. But I survived and Sherri is still talking about how great it was.
Saturday started with me being woken up early in the morning (like 8am) by Susie, who had gone to bed at like 9 the night before. I didn't get home until 1:30, so I was super tired. After we'd woken up and gotten coffee from Dunkin Donuts, we went to see The Hunger Games. Susie had just finished the book and I was itching to see it again anyway, so it was pretty exciting. I actually cried at the Prometheus trailer again. And I cried even more during the movie when Rue died. I also had a lovely moment where some Advil fell from my purse and loudly bounced away during a really quiet scene.
After the movie Susie and I were starving so I called People's Choice and ordered a pizza. Ordering over the phone is my least favorite thing, and I was super awkward about it. Luckily the delicious pizza was worth it.
Over the course of the weekend, I actually watched the movie Take Me Home Tonight twice. Once by myself, and a second time with Susie, Sarah, and my mom. They didn't love it as much as me. I thought it was hilarious.
While at my mom's, I worked on trying to convince Sarah to read I am Number Four, because it's amazing and I want more people to like it. So far I'm not too successful.
We also had a nice dinner and the weather has been getting warmer again. There are actually leaves on the trees outside right now. WAHHH!
Anyway, I'm starving so I'm going to end here. One of these days I'll actually write about something interesting.
